“When I first discovered my love for the art medium of soft pastel, I began painting closeups of flowers. One of my greatest teachers, Georgia O’Keeffe, has taught me how closeups can give an artist an opportunity to explore design, form, and bold color while painting a flower. I enjoy diving into each unique form of specific flowers. Endless folds and turns with color shifts, shadows, and light resting in unexpected areas on and within the flower.”
